For you, Gemini, this month offers exciting opportunities to enjoy time with friends, make new connections, join a club or business group, volunteer, and explore your inner world through spirituality.
April will usher in formidable forces with high potential for innovation and bold initiatives. It also presents its share of challenging energies, however, thanks to some key planetary alignments and shifts.
Although we have the energies of a new season and the new spiritual year favoring a fresh start, this month will require us to wait on launching anything so we can revisit the past first.

April Astrology – Headline News
Your Friends And Associates
As April begins, we have three planets in Aries:
- The warm and powerful Sun, who always shines his light freely and generously to bring joy and optimism to our world
- Mercury, who governs thinking, communication, and commerce and brings playfulness and curiosity wherever he goes
- Uranus, who governs inspiration, technology, and electricity and brings sudden change, freedom, and a quirky quality to our lives
We also will have a fourth factor in Aries, the asteroid called Chiron, who is associated with where we feel wounded and how we heal and then help others based on our experiences. Chiron has moved through Pisces since February 8, 2011, and leaves that sign for Aries on April 17. Chiron remains there for seven years, giving all of us plenty of time to reckon with Aries and adjust how we use its power so we’re applying that force constructively.
Aries is a fire sign symbolized by the Ram, a competitive, hard charging creature who leads with his horns, rushing head first into life and ever ready to do battle. Aries drives us forward, pushing us to focus on ourselves, our energy, and our goals. This high power sign allows us to overcome inertia so we can get moving, start anything we desire (and start over at any time), and rush out in front of others in order to lead. It also inspires us to serve as spiritual warriors who inspire by setting a noble example, using leadership for constructive purposes, and channeling resources toward worthwhile goals.

For you, Gemini, planets in Aries always activate your eleventh house of friends and other associates, charitable activities, clubs, and networking. All the Aries planets will energize your current relationships, increase desires to meet new people, help you initiate applications to join any group of your choice, and spark plans to volunteer.
Your Health And Spirituality
On April 19, the Sun leaves Aries for Taurus, which will start the month of the Bull. You’ll feel the energies shift away from the fiery, take charge power of Aries to the earthy, steady world of Taurus. This annual change brings needed calm after Aries and its high octane rush.
For you, Gemini, planets in Taurus can stabilize your health because they put earthy practicality into your twelfth house of wellbeing, especially psychological health. This area also governs your spiritual life and projects you work on by yourself, privately. As soon as the Sun enters Taurus, you may feel a need to slow down, make time for prayer and meditation, and reflect on how well you balance time in public with your need for solitude.
Mercury Retrograde Ends
Last month, our solar system’s smallest planet, Mercury, went retrograde, which it generally does three times annually for about three weeks at a time. As April begins, Mercury, also your ruler, remains retrograde.
The retrograde will end on April 15.
Until then, avoid starting anything new, and don’t sign contracts because you won’t have all the facts. Remain flexible and slow down even though the Aries powers this month (including Mercury in Aries) are pushing you to get going.
Instead, turn the Aries forces inward by working on your spirituality and meditating. Reflect on how the retrograde has affected you and your life and how well you’ve managed any surprises or challenges it has brought. Or direct the retrograde energies outward to anything “re”: review, redo, rethink, recycle, reverse, restore, repair, reconnect, and so on.

Volatile Energies – Proceed With Caution
The Sun entered Aries last month on March 20 and remains there until April 19.
Aries brings the power needed to birth the new. Imagine the force required for a seed to sprout or a chick to break out of its shell. Or the effort needed for a new business to take hold or a new fitness regimen to become a habit.
Aries and its fiery ruler, Mars, drive us to move quickly and make things happen. They can help us compete and accomplish what seems impossible.
Yet their powers can be explosive and dangerous, as when a child too young to understand fire plays with matches or gets too close to a hot stove. As a result, as beneficial as Aries time can be, it also is associated with violent incidents throughout history.
Find out more about this pattern related to Aries time in my article, Aries And A History Of Violence.
In addition, several planets currently sit in Capricorn (including Aries’s fiery ruler, Mars). That means they are challenging all the planets now in Aries and raising the stakes. These alignments can create great good if we use them wisely to turn a corner on major problems.
The movement of Chiron, the healing asteroid, into Aries on April 17 can help us overcome the negative expressions of Aries. Chiron will move through this sign for seven years, helping us come to terms with impulsiveness, violence, inappropriate risks, and all other misuses of Aries energy.
Throughout this month, stay aware of this potential so you can avoid serious mistakes and help others do the same. Also, remember your ability to serve as a force for peace and a nurturing presence. The new and full Moons this month will bring particularly high energies, making them good times to focus on spirituality and the highest good and best outcome for all.
A New Era Coming In May – How To Get Ready
Seven years ago, Uranus left Pisces for Aries on March 11, 2011.
Uranus is the Great Awakener, the liberator, the planet that forces us to evolve by bringing sudden change as well as lightning flashes of inspiration. It helps us tap our genius so we can direct it toward helping others.
Its time in Aries has brought great challenges, especially from 2012 through 2015. In those years, Uranus made seven difficult alignments with Pluto in Capricorn. All of us felt powerful forces urging us to overcome obstacles, turn a corner on longstanding problems, and reinvent ourselves and our lives. We also saw these pressures on the world stage, manifesting many changes.
For you, Gemini, Uranus in Aries likely has brought shakeups in your friendships, club and association memberships, networking and charitable activities, and idealism about helping the world become a better place. The connections with Pluto in Capricorn affected your joint finances as well, such as bonuses or commissions, insurance, child support or alimony, mortgages, venture capital, or inheritance and other gifts.
Think back over the past seven years. How has your life changed? What have you overcome? And how have you freed yourself and struck out in bold and visionary directions?
Also, consider how much the world has changed since 2011.
This month, reflect on all that’s happened for you, your friends and family, all humanity, and our planet. Honor how much you’ve learned, achieved, and grown.
Accept any mistakes and missteps and make peace with who you’ve become so you’re ready to move on to a new stage because the Uranus in Aries era will end next month, on May 15. That’s the day Uranus heads into earthy Taurus and brings changes to all things associated with the Bull.
Next month’s horoscope will give you more details on this momentous shift. For now, get ready by looking back on the last seven years so you can gain valuable perspective and get ideas on how you want to shape the coming seven years.
Plan Your Month: Important Dates In April
This month brings several key dates to watch as you plan your month. Mark your calendar and take action (or rest) as recommended on the dates listed here so your efforts can bring progress in all areas of your life.
April 1: A stressful full Moon on March 31 may continue to reverberate, so continue spiritual efforts based on whatever came up for you. Also, retrograde Mercury, your ruler, joins with the Sun in your eleventh house of friendship. Look back at the friends from each stage of your life and how each helped or influenced you. If appropriate, consider contacting past pals to reconnect or reminisce.
April 2: Mars and Saturn come together in your eighth house of shared money. You may hear about an inheritance or earn a commission or bonus. This combination of power and prudence also can help you resolve something related to alimony, child support, insurance, or a mortgage.
April 7: Venus in your twelfth house of health and spirituality connects well with Saturn in your joint finance house. A bonus or insurance payment may help you pay for therapy or other health treatments, or you may enjoy greater stability in your spiritual life by embracing daily meditation or a structured approach to learning about life’s mysteries.
April 10: The Sun in your group activities and clubs house challenges Pluto in your shared money area. If you want to apply for membership in an exclusive club, wait to broach the subject with your partner, who may be sensitive about finances. Instead, concentrate on diving deeply into your spiritual life with time alone to start a new meditation program, as Mars in your mystical area connects harmoniously with Venus in your privacy house.
April 12: Venus in your house of health and spirituality links lovingly with Neptune in your career house. Bring compassion to your leadership and tap your intuition to guide business strategy and career moves.
April 12 – 15: The Moon enters its balsamic phase, the "dark of the Moon" time before the new Moon. Slow down and review the past month since the new Moon that arrived on March 17. Meditate, rest, and reflect on what you want to do in the coming month. Find out more about this mysterious monthly time in my Balsamic Moon Phase article. Also, this period is excellent for spiritual work, meditation, and prayer. See my article on How To Relieve Stress – Meditate At The Right Time for details.
April 14: A helpful connection between Jupiter in your job house and Pluto in your joint money area may bring favor from VIPs regarding a bonus, commission, or venture capital. Mars, also in your shared finances house, makes the same connection to Neptune in your career house, driving you to find funding to start your dream business or project or realize a visionary arts initiative.
April 15: A big day. The new Moon in Aries (and the two weeks following, until the next full Moon) normally would supply your best time all year for making new friends or business connections or joining a new charitable project. Yet your ruler, Mercury, ends its retrograde this day, an often stormy time that can come with surprise technical or communication issues needing resolution. Uranus sitting very close to this new Moon suggests other unforeseen developments, and four planets in Aries spar with three heavy hitters in your joint money area. So expect the unexpected, see what comes to a head, and wait at least two days to start anything new. See my article, Mercury Retrograde Dates, Advice, for additional guidance.
April 16: Venus in your privacy and health area will face off with Jupiter across the sky in your job and daily life management house. Hidden health concerns may come to light, or bosses or human resources staff may require details about a delicate situation you prefer to keep under wraps. Wait to respond to requests for information so you can collect your thoughts as you gather data. Focus on your ultimate goal and consider seeking help from an expert or health professional if needed.
April 17: Venus connects harmoniously with Pluto in your shared finances house, potentially earning financial favor from VIPs or a bonus or commission related to a project started behind the scenes.
April 18: The Sun in Aries moves to an exact alignment with Uranus in the same sign, putting a spotlight on charitable activities. A sudden opportunity to serve on a nonprofit board or lead a major fundraising campaign could materialize. Or a friend or business associate may introduce you to potential new clients at a volunteer organization.
April 19: The Sun enters Taurus. Pause and see if you can feel the shift from fiery, action oriented Aries to earthy, comfortable Taurus.
April 23: Mars in your joint money house links helpfully with Jupiter in your job house. You may see progress in negotiations related to commissions, bonuses, or insurance benefits, or your expertise at work could help you impress venture capitalists.
April 24: Venus moves into Gemini in your first house of the body and personality. Your image can take on a charming aura that wins you admirers, and a new spirit of elegance may inspire you to shop for the latest looks or update your hairstyle.
April 26: Mars meets Pluto in your shared financial house, bringing new power to your ability to resolve child support or alimony concerns or transform how you and your partner handle money. Exercise care with this energy, directing it constructively to maintain good relationships while taking major steps to reach important goals.
April 29: The Sun nods fondly to Saturn in your money house, solidifying financial gains with help from VIPs behind the scenes. Also, a full Moon in Scorpio lights your sixth house of work and fitness. Something related to your job, health, or daily life management may peak around this time, and you may realize you need to make changes. Seek to balance work with your personal needs so your life feels well rounded and supports excellent health. This day (and the day before and day after) favor spiritual work: plan time for meditation and prayer. See my article on How To Relieve Stress – Meditate At The Right Time for details.
