Happy April, Pisces!
Pisces: Your Month Ahead
For you, Pisces, this month offers exciting opportunities to improve your earning power, begin plans for a job search or seeking a promotion, take action to get new clients, organize your possessions or shop for new items, review your values, improve communication, and spend time with siblings.
April will usher in formidable forces with high potential for innovation and bold initiatives. It also presents its share of challenging energies, however, thanks to some key planetary alignments and shifts.
Although we have the energies of a new season and the new spiritual year favoring a fresh start, this month will require us to wait on launching anything so we can revisit the past first.
Read on to see how you can leverage April’s astrology to improve yourself and your life. As you do, you will expand your ability to help others.
April Astrology – Headline News
Your Job, Earning Power, And Values
As April begins, we have three planets in Aries:
- The warm and powerful Sun, who always shines his light freely and generously to bring joy and optimism to our world
- Mercury, who governs thinking, communication, and commerce and brings playfulness and curiosity wherever he goes
- Uranus, who governs inspiration, technology, and electricity and brings sudden change, freedom, and a quirky quality to our lives
We also will have a fourth factor in Aries, the asteroid called Chiron, who is associated with where we feel wounded and how we heal and then help others based on our experiences. Chiron has moved through Pisces since February 8, 2011, and leaves that sign for Aries on April 17. Chiron remains there for seven years, giving all of us plenty of time to reckon with Aries and adjust how we use its power so we’re applying that force constructively.
Aries is a fire sign symbolized by the Ram, a competitive, hard charging creature who leads with his horns, rushing head first into life and ever ready to do battle. Aries drives us forward, pushing us to focus on ourselves, our energy, and our goals. This high power sign allows us to overcome inertia so we can get moving, start anything we desire (and start over at any time), and rush out in front of others in order to lead. It also inspires us to serve as spiritual warriors who inspire by setting a noble example, using leadership for constructive purposes, and channeling resources toward worthwhile goals.
Find out more about Aries in my article, Aries Time: Face Who You Really Are. Also, you can tune in to this sign’s bold, take charge energies with The Aries Meditation, an uplifting, guided meditation.
For you, Pisces, planets in Aries always activate your second house of job and earned income, budgeting and spending, possessions including jewelry and other valuables, and personal values in the sense of what matters most to you. All the Aries planets will intensify your desire to improve your bottom line, care for or winnow down what you own, and align your material life with your inner life by living your guiding principles.
Your Communication, Travel, And Siblings
On April 19, the Sun leaves Aries for Taurus, which will start the month of the Bull. You’ll feel the energies shift away from the fiery, take charge power of Aries to the earthy, steady world of Taurus. This annual change brings needed calm after Aries and its high octane rush.
For you, Pisces, planets in Taurus stabilize your ability to think and communicate clearly because they put earthy practicality and focus into your third house of writing, speaking, body language, and early education. This area also governs travel via short trips as well as your brothers and sisters. As soon as the Sun enters Taurus, you may feel like seeing a sibling, planning a getaway to visit a brother, sister, or close cousin, or taking a novel writing or public speaking class to brush up your skills.
Mercury Retrograde Ends
Last month, our solar system’s smallest planet, Mercury, went retrograde, which it generally does three times annually for about three weeks at a time. As April begins, Mercury remains retrograde.
The retrograde will end on April 15.
Until then, avoid starting anything new, and don’t sign contracts because you won’t have all the facts. Remain flexible and slow down even though the Aries powers this month (including Mercury in Aries) are pushing you to get going.
Instead, turn the Aries forces inward by working on your spirituality and meditating. Reflect on how the retrograde has affected you and your life and how well you’ve managed any surprises or challenges it has brought. Or direct the retrograde energies outward to anything “re”: review, redo, rethink, recycle, reverse, restore, repair, reconnect, and so on.

Volatile Energies – Proceed With Caution
The Sun entered Aries last month on March 20 and remains there until April 19.
Aries brings the power needed to birth the new. Imagine the force required for a seed to sprout or a chick to break out of its shell. Or the effort needed for a new business to take hold or a new fitness regimen to become a habit.
Aries and its fiery ruler, Mars, drive us to move quickly and make things happen. They can help us compete and accomplish what seems impossible.
Yet their powers can be explosive and dangerous, as when a child too young to understand fire plays with matches or gets too close to a hot stove. As a result, as beneficial as Aries time can be, it also is associated with violent incidents throughout history.
Find out more about this pattern related to Aries time in my article, Aries And A History Of Violence.
In addition, several planets currently sit in Capricorn (including Aries’s fiery ruler, Mars). That means they are challenging all the planets now in Aries and raising the stakes. These alignments can create great good if we use them wisely to turn a corner on major problems.
The movement of Chiron, the healing asteroid, into Aries on April 17 can help us overcome the negative expressions of Aries. Chiron will move through this sign for seven years, helping us come to terms with impulsiveness, violence, inappropriate risks, and all other misuses of Aries energy.
Throughout this month, stay aware of this potential so you can avoid serious mistakes and help others do the same. Also, remember your ability to serve as a force for peace and a nurturing presence. The new and full Moons this month will bring particularly high energies, making them good times to focus on spirituality and the highest good and best outcome for all.
A New Era Coming In May – How To Get Ready
Seven years ago, Uranus left Pisces for Aries on March 11, 2011.
Uranus is the Great Awakener, the liberator, the planet that forces us to evolve by bringing sudden change as well as lightning flashes of inspiration. It helps us tap our genius so we can direct it toward helping others.
Its time in Aries has brought great challenges, especially from 2012 through 2015. In those years, Uranus made seven difficult alignments with Pluto in Capricorn. All of us felt powerful forces urging us to overcome obstacles, turn a corner on longstanding problems, and reinvent ourselves and our lives. We also saw these pressures on the world stage, manifesting many changes.
For you, Pisces, Uranus in Aries has changed your perspective on what you value and affected how you earn your living, your money situation and how well you manage your assets and pay bills, how you shop and what you buy, and the possessions you own and for which you must care. The connections with Pluto in Capricorn affected your club memberships, volunteer activities, and networking as well.
Think back over the past seven years. How has your life changed? What have you overcome? And how have you freed yourself and struck out in bold and visionary directions?
Also, consider how much the world has changed since 2011.
This month, reflect on all that’s happened for you, your friends and family, all humanity, and our planet. Honor how much you’ve learned, achieved, and grown.
Accept any mistakes and missteps and make peace with who you’ve become so you’re ready to move on to a new stage because the Uranus in Aries era will end next month, on May 15. That’s the day Uranus heads into earthy Taurus and brings changes to all things associated with the Bull.
Next month’s horoscope will give you more details on this momentous shift. For now, get ready by looking back on the last seven years so you can gain valuable perspective and get ideas on how you want to shape the coming seven years.
Plan Your Month: Important Dates In April
This month brings several key dates to watch as you plan your month. Mark your calendar and take action (or rest) as recommended on the dates listed here so your efforts can bring progress in all areas of your life.
April 1: A stressful full Moon on March 31 may continue to reverberate, so continue spiritual efforts based on whatever came up for you. Also, retrograde Mercury joins with the Sun in your second house of earning and values. Look back at your job and work history, especially the changes in your income, and consider how your values (and your value to your employer or clients) have changed over time. Also, see if you’ve left any money management or job effectiveness techniques behind that still have value.
April 2: Mars and Saturn come together in your eleventh house of business associates and networking, giving you drive to connect with senior people in your industry. If you belong to a club or charitable board, consider stepping into a leadership role to express your winning mix of energy and prudence.
April 7: Venus in your third house of siblings and travel connects well with Saturn in your business associates and charitable giving house. Invite a brother or sister to join you at an industry trade show out of town that can benefit your sibling’s career or tap your powerful persuasive abilities to help launch a PR campaign for your favorite charity.
April 10: The Sun in your money house challenges Pluto in your membership area. If you want to join an exclusive club or industry association, wait to apply and steer clear of VIPs for now. Instead, spend the day polishing your application or meeting with business associates you’ve met through networking, as Mars in your business associates area connects harmoniously with Venus in your communication house.
April 12: Venus in your house of siblings links lovingly with your ruler, Neptune, in your personality house. Invite a brother or sister to attend an arts event or call a sibling who needs your help and offer compassionate listening to show your deep spiritual love.
April 12 – 15: The Moon enters its balsamic phase, the "dark of the Moon" time before the new Moon. Slow down and review the past month since the new Moon that arrived on March 17. Meditate, rest, and reflect on what you want to do in the coming month. Find out more about this mysterious monthly time in my Balsamic Moon Phase article. Also, this period is excellent for spiritual work, meditation, and prayer. See my article on How To Relieve Stress – Meditate At The Right Time for details.
April 14: A helpful connection between Jupiter in your expansion house and Pluto in your networking area may net you a new international contact or client, or a VIP you meet at a mixer may help you with an academic concern or immigration matter. Mars, also in your networking and volunteering house, makes the same connection to Neptune in your personality house, helping others see your artistic talent, appreciate your gift for compassionate service, or tap you for a leadership position that makes your soul sing.
April 15: A big day. The new Moon in Aries (and the two weeks following, until the next full Moon) normally would supply your best time all year for starting or applying for a new job or client assignment. Yet Mercury ends its retrograde this day, an often stormy time that can come with surprise technical or communication issues needing resolution. Uranus sitting very close to this new Moon suggests other unforeseen developments, and four planets in Aries spar with three heavy hitters in your networking and business associates area. So expect the unexpected, see what comes to a head, and wait at least two days to start anything new. See my article, Mercury Retrograde Dates, Advice, for additional guidance.
April 16: Venus in your communication area will face off with Jupiter across the sky in your international and higher education house. Concerns related to travel or international business, a dissertation or degree program, or a publishing or broadcasting initiative likely will surface. Watch for a tendency to overpromise and underdeliver or to exceed travel budgets with overly luxurious accommodations or hasty planning. Examine your beliefs about what you want or think you are worth versus what is realistic. Pause before communicating or agreeing to travel plans or sensitive meetings about an academic matter or international concern.
April 17: Venus connects harmoniously with Pluto in your networking house, giving you a silver tongue when it comes to VIPs that could earn you membership in a club, a leadership role on a charitable board, or favor from industry leaders.
April 18: The Sun in Aries moves to an exact alignment with Uranus in the same sign. An out of the blue client or work opportunity may come your way, and you’ll need to act quickly to seize it. You also may have a brainstorm about where to find a lost item or a breakthrough related to your job or values.
April 19: The Sun enters Taurus. Pause and see if you can feel the shift from fiery, action oriented Aries to earthy, comfortable Taurus.
April 23: Mars in your house of idealism and how you help make the world a better place links helpfully with Jupiter in your international house. An overseas contact may invite you to join a humanitarian mission or inspire you to take action on long held ideals by supporting a charity or joining a board.
April 24: Venus moves into Gemini in your fourth house of home and family. Relationships with close relatives, including your parents, can take on new sweetness and harmony, especially through your loving thoughts and words. You also will have exquisite taste when it comes to a renovation or home redecorating project.
April 26: Mars meets Pluto in your networking house, powering up your ability to make great connections, giving you energy to follow up effectively, and inspiring you to stop at nothing until you achieve your career goals. Exercise care using this energy so you continue to nurture strong professional relationships while pressing ahead on your personal agenda.
April 29: The Sun nods fondly to Saturn in your humanitarian house, helping you solidify plans for a fundraiser or other charitable project. Also, a full Moon in Scorpio lights your ninth house of expansion through education, overseas travel, or publishing. Something related to a university program or degree, international business or travel, or an article or book you want to publish may peak around this time, and you may realize you need to make changes. Balance desires to get away or think big with gratitude for your local community and siblings so you gain a complete picture of all that your life gives you. This day (and the day before and day after) favor spiritual work: plan time for meditation and prayer. See my article on How To Relieve Stress – Meditate At The Right Time for details.
